Can I change employers?
Yes, but you must notify the Ministry of the Interior at least 30 days in advance. You can generally only change employers after 6 months of employment on your first card, and the new position must also be in the central registry.
How long does the card last?
The card is typically issued for the duration of the employment contract, but for a maximum period of 2 years. It can be extended repeatedly.
Does this lead to Permanent Residency?
Yes. After 5 years of continuous residence in the Czech Republic, you are eligible to apply for permanent residence (trvalý pobyt).
