Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my family?
Yes. The 'Talent - Carte Bleue Européenne' grants immediate access to the 'Talent (Famille)' procedure. Your spouse and minor children can accompany you to France immediately without waiting for the notoriously slow traditional *Regroupement Familial* process. Crucially, your spouse will receive full, unrestricted access to the French labor market data from day one.
Can I change employers?
During the first two years of holding the EU Blue Card, changing your employer requires you to proactively request authorization from the French Ministry of Interior. Once past the two-year mark, you may change employers freely across France, provided the new role still meets the EU Blue Card salary and qualification thresholds.
Does time spent on this visa count towards permanent residency?
Yes. After 5 years of continuous residence in the EU (with at least the last 2 years physically based in France), you become eligible for the 10-year Resident Card (*Carte de Résident*) or French citizenship.
