Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my family immediately?
No. Unlike the prestigious 'Talent' permits, the standard 'Salarié' visa operates under the rigid *Regroupement Familial* procedure. You must reside in France for at least **18 continuous months** before you can legally petition to bring your spouse and children.
Is the salary threshold high?
There is no elite salary requirement. You simply must be paid at least the French minimum wage (SMIC), and your compensation must align symmetrically with the prevailing grid for French employees in your sector.
Can I switch to a Talent permit later?
Yes. If your salary increases or you change paths to match the criteria of an EU Blue Card or Tech Visa, you can trigger a change of status (*changement de statut*) directly at the local Prefecture in France.
