Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my family?
No. Seasonal workers are not eligible for family reunification in the Netherlands.
Can I prolong my stay beyond 24 weeks?
No. The 24-week limit is strictly enforced. If you wish to stay longer, you would need to transition to a different permit type (e.g., HSM) and meet its criteria.
Do I need a BSN?
Yes. Even for short-term seasonal work, you must register at the municipality to receive a BSN for tax and social security purposes.
Is the UWV test always required?
Yes, unless the Netherlands has a specific bilateral quota or labor agreement with your country (which is rare for third-country nationals at this time).
What happens if there's no result after 90 days?
Like other Dutch visas, the IND attempts to decide within 90 days. If the season begins before the decision, the application may become moot; early recruitment is key.
